Ricki’s, in collaboration with the Plastic Bank, is doing their part to put an end to polluted, single-use plastics ending up in the world’s oceans. By designating a portion of the proceeds from any of our products made from Social Plastic® to the increased recycling infrastructure in China, we believe that we can make a positive impact; Not only will we be improving the lives of Chinese people affected by pollution, but also Chinese people who are living in poverty.

Our main goal with this initiative is to help the lives of people who we may have already had a direct impact on. Many of our products are produced in China, and so by focusing on pollution of single-use plastics in China, we are doing our part to reverse the effects of production. We have an end goal that by 2025, we will make all our single-use plastics recyclable. With the help of the Plastic Bank, we will be researching the best materials to use in lieu of plastic.  We will provide our stakeholder with yearly reports on the progress being made in alternate materials.

We are staying accountable! Every three months, we will update our stakeholders (including customers and employees) on our progress in China through our online channels, including a new blog. We will also have yearly stakeholder analyses, which will provide us with valuable feedback that will assist us in our corporate social responsibility journey!

The blogs’ purpose is to keep our customers in-the-know about how our partnership with Plastic Bank is going, and exactly what work is being put into this initiative. Since the initiative is largely funded by our generous customers, we believe that they should be the first to hear about any big updates in the process.
